Alfredo Kraus was one of the great lyric tenors ever, famed for the sophisticated artistry he brought to bel canto roles and his exquisite interpretations of zarzuela and Spanish songs.
Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, he quickly joined the school choir. Soon thereafter he studied singing privately and developed an interest for opera. In 1956 he made his operatic debut at Cairo Opera as Edgardo and in New York at Metropolitan Opera as Rigoletto.
Maria de los Dolores Flores
Maria de los Dolores Flores Ruiz was born in Jerez de la Frontera and died in Bagur (Cadiz). A multifaceted artist, she excelled as a bailadora, singer, and prolific actress.
Lola was an indomitable force onstage, her performances truly captivating audiences. A true legend and symbol of Spanish culture, she also appeared in 35 movies as a flamenco dancer in many cases – which led many of her peers to refer to her simply by her nickname Lola. Lola would go on to feature prominently alongside Leon Quintero and Quiroga at many major spectacles during her lifetime.
Miguel Bose
Bose has made his own mark since debuting as a teen idol in the 1970s. Since then, he has released over 20 albums and appeared in several films.
He began with Sony albums focused on teen pop, before switching labels in 1985 for Bandido which saw him experiment with different genres and styles – often within one album itself! He remains adept at crossing styles.
