Alejandro Sanz is another acclaimed Spanish singer-songwriter. His musical compositions combine influences such as Latin pop, rock and flamenco into his works.
La Oreja de Van Gogh
La Oreja de Van Gogh is one of Spain’s most celebrated pop-rock groups, famed for their emotionally charged songs about love and friendship. Their debut album Dile al Sol (Van Gogh’s Ear) became an international success, topping charts worldwide upon release in 1998.
In the 2000s, they expanded their audience through albums such as El Viaje de Copperpot and Lo que Te Conte Mientras Te Dormida; later released album was supported with an extensive tour that resulted in multiple TV appearances.
In October 2024, Montero returned after 17 years to her role as singer with the band and was announced with a video showing her rehearsing with bandmates Pablo Benegas, Haritz Garde and Xabi San Martin rehearsing together for rehearsal. She is credited as injecting fresh creative energy to this version of the group.
Alejandro Sanz
Alejandro Sanz was born in Madrid and began playing guitar at seven, inspired by his family’s flamenco roots. At nineteen, he released his debut album despite it not achieving much commercial success; subsequent records, Si Tu Me Miras and 3 both performed well; but it wasn’t until 1997’s Mas that international recognition came knocking. Additionally, El Alma al Aire marked another important step.
Sanz explored various musical genres in his later albums, No Es Lo Mismo and El Tren de los Momentos; including rock, salsa and hip hop. However, romantic ballads remained his specialty genre.
He has collaborated with artists such as Alicia Keys, Destiny’s Child, Camila Cabello, Laura Pausini and Juan Luis Guerra. Additionally he supports various social causes including AIDS research and breast cancer awareness as well as speaking out against violence against women.
Pablo Alboran
Pablo Alboran is one of Spain’s biggest pop stars. With a seductive voice, this singer-songwriter mesmerizes audiences across Spain – and has collaborated with some of its biggest stars – like Dua Lipa!
He first became known to audiences by uploading a YouTube video that went viral, leading to instant fame and subsequent chart success for “Solamente Tu” as his debut single in Spain.
His first album was released under his own name in 2011, followed by two others; Tanto and Terral. Aside from that he has released various musical collaborations along with live albums distributed by Warner Music Spain. Additionally, Pablo Alboran is known as an Instagram influencer; using it to tease upcoming projects – most recently sharing comic book-inspired illustrations to his followers on this platform.
Morad
Morad is an iconic Spanish rapper of Moroccan heritage whose songs, such as “No Son de Calle” and M.D.L.R,” have been watched more than 2.7 billion times on YouTube.
Morad was raised in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat’s La Florida neighborhood among high concentrations of Maghrebi immigrants who experienced many of the challenges typical to immigrant life. Through his music he has found success, becoming an artistic presence throughout Spain. His story and the themes explored in it have cemented his status as a cultural figurehead.
With his debut singles Bzrp Music Sessions Vol 47 and Pelele both topping PROMUSICAE charts in 2021, his songs convey raw emotions while remaining musically composed – both reaching number one. His authenticity resonated with an expansive audience who saw themselves reflected in his lyrics – leading him to quickly become one of Spain’s most well-known musicians.
Natalia Jimenez
Natalia Jimenez is an internationally recognized music force and fashion icon. With an unmistakably powerful voice that has earned numerous awards over time, as well as writing books and appearing on many television programs herself, her presence cannot be missed!
She is the daughter of a Spanish father and Portuguese Romani mother and was born in Madrid, Spain. As lead vocalist for La Quinta Estacion alongside Angel Reyero and Pablo Dominguez.
Formation began in 2000 and their group quickly rose to unprecedented success thanks to a blend of Spanish and Mexican music. Over five chart-topping albums before disbanding in 2010, she donned long dresses once more to record the cover album ‘Mexico de mi Corazon 2’ which features number-one Latin artists Joss Favela and Banda MS as featured artists.
